Arena expands

General manager of Arena, Paul Harper, explains why, despite the widely documented difficulties surrounding retail spending and the economy, the company will be ‘going for it’ in every area of the business during 2013.

 

“We have recently bolstered our sales team with the appointment of Danny Simpson as area sales manager,” says Paul.

“His appointment is in response to the increasing success of the business and the opportunities that we’ve identified for 2013 and are keen to capitalise on.”

Paul believes that the key investment that at any trade business makes is at the front end. “Our sales team are key to building relationships and this is essential for us to give our customers the best possible service. Extra sales people help us to do that.”

Whilst Paul suggests that it’s a brave person who predicts any major growth in the industry during 2013, he is a firm believer that product innovation is the way forward.

“Despite a difficult economic climate, we are committed to introducing new and innovative products to our portfolio and the experience and enthusiasm of our team plays a major role in achieving this.

“Arena’s key challenge is to keep finding those USPs and continue to bring new products to market which will in turn increase our share of that market. The size of our operation means that we can be quick to adapt to changing consumer needs to provide exactly what our customers want.

“We’ve just launched our first collection of made-to-measure curtains, all of which coordinate with our current range of roman blind fabrics, and we are excited about the very positive reaction we have so far received.”

He also believes that sales of its Sandringham shutters will continue to soar as more homeowners seek to invest in higher end products. The Arena team

“Shutters are being viewed as a key piece of furniture,” adds Paul. “They stand the test of time as more people opt to buy once and buy well rather than going for an off the shelf quick fix. Our Sandringham collection goes from strength to strength and we will be looking to build on that during 2013.”

Paul goes on to say that its dedication to providing solid customer service is at the heart of Arena’s reputation as the trade’s supplier of choice.

“We’ve worked out that our five area sales managers have a combined total of more than 100 years experience in the industry! This is backed up by the knowledge of our office based sales support team as we appreciate our customers need to speak to someone who understand the product.

“Each member of our sales team bring impressive skills to their roles and will be instrumental in developing and increasing our business during 2013 and beyond.”
